Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Amberfall ("the Game") handles, why, and what choices you have. The Game is made by ronikwow ("we", "us"). Questions: amberfall.support@gmail.com.
1. Your game progress
Your game progress (player name, cards and card levels, Amber, Dark Crystals, Forge Tokens and other in-game items, campaign floors, quests and statistics) is stored on our game server with your anonymous online account (see section 2), so that it cannot be lost or tampered with. A copy is kept on your device to show it, together with your settings and your chosen deck, Idol and title.
Android may include the Game's files (including the key of your online account) in your device's own backup to your Google account, so that your progress comes back after reinstalling the Game. You can turn this off in your device's backup settings.
The Game can also be played in a web browser (https://amberfallgame.duckdns.org/play/). The web version has no ads and no purchases. There the copy of your progress, your settings and the key of your online account are kept in your browser's storage for this site. If that storage is cleared (by you, or by the browser - for example Safari may remove data of sites you have not opened for 7 days unless the Game is added to the Home Screen), the key is lost.
2. Online duels and your online account
The first time you play online, the game server creates an anonymous online account for your device: a random account ID and a secret key that stays on your device (the server keeps only a one-way hash of it). The account is not linked to your real name, email address or Google account.
With this account the server stores your game progress (section 1), your player name, title, duel rating, win streak, number of wins and losses, and when you last played online. It also keeps a match log with the account IDs of both players, the result, the number of turns and the new ratings. When you finish a campaign battle, the Game sends its result (win or loss, stars, turns and similar battle statistics) so that the server can grant the rewards. Your player name and duel rating are shown to other players in the Top Duelists ladder. Other players can open your public profile: player name, title, rank and rating, numbers of wins and battles, floors cleared, how many cards you have opened, your favorite card, Idol, crystal skin and Ancient Power. Your currencies and purchases are never shown.
During a match the server also receives your Idol, battle deck with card levels, crystal skin, Ancient Power, the moves you make and the IDs of players you have blocked (used only so that you are never matched with them; this list is not stored). Your opponent sees your player name, title, Idol, crystal skin, Ancient Power, account ID and the cards you play.
To deliver network traffic, the server necessarily processes your device's IP address. It is used only for the connection and is not saved in your account or in the match log. The connection between the Game and the server is encrypted.
Please do not use your real name or any other personal information as your player name. Offensive names are replaced automatically. After an online duel you can block or report your opponent; a report opens your email app with the opponent's name and account ID, and is sent only if you choose to send it.
3. Advertising
The Game offers optional rewarded ads: you decide to watch an ad in exchange for Dark Crystals. Ads are served by third-party advertising partners (such as Google AdMob). These partners may collect and process your device's advertising ID, IP address, device model, operating system and information about your interaction with ads in order to show ads, measure their performance, prevent fraud and - if you allow it - personalize ads. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies, for example Google's: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
You can turn off personalized ads in the Game (Settings > Personalized Ads) and on your device (Android: Settings > Google > Ads, where you can also reset or delete your advertising ID). Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), you will be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time.
4. Purchases
The Game offers optional in-app purchases (Dark Crystals and Ancient Scrolls). They are processed by Google Play under Google's terms and privacy policy. To deliver an item, the Game sends the purchase confirmation (product and purchase token) to our game server, which checks it with Google Play before granting the item. We keep the order ID and a one-way hash of the purchase token so that a purchase is never delivered twice. We never receive your name, card or other payment details. Your purchase history is kept by Google Play.
5. What we do not do
- We do not require registration. The online account is anonymous and is created automatically only when you play online.
- We do not collect your real name, email address, contacts, location, photos or files.
- We do not sell or share your personal information for money.
6. Children
The Game is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Keeping and deleting your data
Settings > Reset Progress starts your game over on the server (bought Ancient Scrolls are kept). The copy on your device is removed when you clear the Game's data or uninstall the Game.
Your online account and progress are kept while you play. You can delete them at any time with Settings > Delete Online Account: they are removed from the server immediately, together with your rating and your place in the ladder. Records of purchases that were delivered (order ID and token hash) are kept as long as the law requires for accounting and fraud prevention. Accounts that have not been used online for 2 years are deleted automatically. Match log records contain only random account IDs and are deleted after 90 days.
If you can no longer use the Game (for example after uninstalling it), email us your Player ID (shown at the bottom of the Settings screen) and we will delete the account: amberfall.support@gmail.com. The same steps are described on the delete-account page of our website. If you have emailed us, you can also ask us to delete that correspondence.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing and to withdraw your consent. On our server we keep only the anonymous online account and match log described above, and you can delete your account in the Game. For anything else, contact us at amberfall.support@gmail.com.
9. Security
Online duel traffic goes only between your device and the game server and is encrypted. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we keep the information we handle to the minimum needed to run the Game.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The new version will be published at the same address and inside the Game with a new "last updated" date. Important changes will be announced in the Game.
